Fitting a Weber Retroject System

This system replaces the standard 38DGAS Carburettor, enabling higher fuel efficiency, higher performance, and reduces issues with running your V6 Essex on modern E5 Fuel.

It may look like a simple bolt on kit, and seem fairly reasonably priced for the benefits you will get from using this, but along with this you will have to buy other tech, namely a mappable ECU & sensors to allow this upgrade to be tuned in correctly.

Example engine management kits such as those made by Megasquirt, MaxxECU Mini / Sport, ECUMaster EMU Black Etc

The prices for these start around the £600 region, hence you will double the cost of the Retroject in order to get it working correctly.

You'll also have to factor in the tuning side, which will take many hours & the cost of buying extra tuning kit to get it working optimally. A wideband Lambda Sensor & knock sensor fitted into the system will allow the engine data to be mapped to the best possible degree.

The fuel pump will need to be upgraded to an electric HP pump suitable for injection, the fuel lines should be metal larger bore eg 8mm, & a fuel return will also need to be fitted back to the tank.

This is only an introduction, but I'm currently considering changing over to this & will provide a complete tutorial if this goes ahead.
